Purpose

West Sussex County Council is the responsible
Authority for preparing the LNRS for West Sussex.CDC area a
supporting authority under the LNRS (Procedure) Regulations 2023.
Under these regulations we have 28 days in which to object (or not)
to the draft LNRS being published for consultation and, prior to
final publication we have to 28 days to confirm that we are content
for it to be published. As these timescales may not fit with
Cabinet timetables, a delegated authority will be proposed to allow
for reponses to be summitted within the specified time

RESOLVED
 
That, in circumstances where, due to the requirements
of the Regulations there is insufficient time to obtain Cabinet
approval, Cabinet authorise the Director of Planning and
Environment, in consultation with the Deputy Leader and Cabinet
Member for Environmental Strategy, to make responses on the draft
Local Nature Recovery Strategy to West Sussex County
Council.
