Reasons for recommendation
Chorley Plumbing, Heating &
Bathrooms Limited are a well-established Business in the town who
have been trading from this property since 2019.
 
If the grant is approved, they
would replace the upstairs windows in the bathroom showroom which
have all broken/smashed and on occasion are leaking.
 
In addition, they would also
spend the grant money on illuminated front signage which would
protrude and increase the visibility from the main road to
potential customers, thereby increasing footfall and turnover. This
is vitally important are they are located down a side street off
the main drag and enhancing the storefront and visibility, is
paramount to their success.
 
They would also upgrade the
customer and staff toilets. Given that they sell bathrooms, their
customers would expect the facilities to be better than they
currently are.
 
Other
options considered and rejected
The alternative option is not
to pay the Grant. Without the Grant funding, the proposed changes
would not happen as the applicant does not currently have the
available cash flow to undertake these much-needed changes. This
could ultimately affect the long-term future of the
Business.
