Reasons for recommendations
TVS Supply Chain Solutions Ltd
of Buckshaw Industrial Park have recently approached the Council to
help secure temporary additional accommodation to enable the
Company to deliver of a major contract. The only suitable
accommodation available for 50 desks was the Council’s Union
Street Offices building. The space identified is shown edged red on
the plan at Appendix B and will be achieved by consolidating the
Council’s staff occupation by a process of consultation and
agreement within other available space within the
building.
Other options considered and
rejected
1.
Identify other suitable space within Chorley, this
was not possible due to lack of availability.
2.
Refuse the request. This was not felt desirable due
to the economic benefit that supporting TVS to expand will provide
to the local area, in addition to the benefit of increased footfall
into the Town Centre.
