Reasons for
recommendation
The existing contract with the current
provider ends in March 2025 with options to extend for a further
two years. Within this period a new system needs to be procured and
implemented.
 
Other options
considered and rejected
To join with another Local Authority to access
their procured financial system. This was explored and rejected as
it did not offer the Council sufficient control of amendments and
adaptations to any future system.
 
To use an existing framework or expansion of
an existing Council’s contract. 
This was rejected as no single framework covered the range of
providers expected and the Council the contract option was explored
with was unwilling to expand their existing contract
arrangements.
