Reasons for
recommendations
The Home Office’s policies and
procedures associated with resettlement are constantly changing. As
a consequence, so are the support needs of asylum seekers, refugees
and the pressures on local services. 
The above recommendations advise that the current funding be used
to cover council costs over subsequent years to mitigate the
impacts of resettlement in Chorley.

To return the funding to the Home Office and
not use it to support resettlers in
Chorley or alleviate pressures on local services.
