Reasons for
recommendations
All Local Authorities have a statutory duty to
publish a Homelessness Strategy. The Prevention of Homelessness
Strategy will include key issues and challenges the Local Authority
are likely to face. The priorities of this strategy are to build
strong relationships with partners and develop a working together
approach to prevent, relieve, and tackle challenges together.

Formally consulting with key stakeholders will
help to ensure that the key issues are included in the document and
that the vision and priorities for preventing homelessness within
Chorley are understood by our key partners.

Other options
considered and rejected
The option not to formally consult with
internal and external stakeholders was considered and rejected. It
was rejected because a lack of consultation would have a high risk
that some key issues of great importance to partners were not
considered.
