Car Park will soon be developed seeing the town centre lose
139 short stay car parking places
 
Changing Farrington/Back Mount Car Park from a
Long Stay to a Short Stay car park will create 78 short stay spaces
in close proximity to the town
centre.
 
Farrington/Back Mount car park is situated
very close to the town centre and therefore should also be a short
stay car park to ensure that the town centre still has a high
number of short stay car parking spaces available to shoppers and
town centre visitors.
 
Other options
considered and rejected
Leave Farrington/Back Mount car park as a Long
Stay car park. This was rejected the Council aim to support local
shops and traders, creating these additional short stay spaces will
help maintain a regular turnover of visitors to the town
centre.
