Purpose

To
refresh the current (adopted) Resources & Waste strategy for
Cornwall as a result of the significant changes that have occurred
in legislation, Government targets and the waste industry and
inform Cabinet what these changes will mean to Cornwall Council and
the residents of Cornwall.

moved by Councillor Mould, seconded by Councillor Alvey and
 

RESOLVED:
 
1. 
That the Resource and Waste Strategy 2025-2045, as
set out in Appendix 1 to the report, be approved.
 
2. 
That the Strategy be formally reviewed, updated and
approved at not less than five yearly intervals.

 
3. 
That authority be delegated to the Service Director
for Regulatory Services to:
 
(i) 
make minor changes to the Strategy as may be
required, such as updating tonnage information, detailing service
developments and revising key performance indicators.
(ii) 
develop a Delivery Plan to support implementation of
the Strategy; and
(iii) 
following adoption of the Waste Strategy Delivery
Plan, to review and amend it on an annual basis, or as may
otherwise be required, in consultation with the responsible
Strategic Director and Portfolio Holder.
