RESOLVED
that
 
1. 
The Committee acknowledged the performance outcomes
of children and young people in Cornwall’s schools at Key
Stage 4 for the academic year 2023-2024, noting the areas of
strength as well as those for continued developed.
2. 
The Committee thanked all the staff, who supported
children’s outcomes, for their efforts.
3. 
The Committee continued to support and endorse the
work of the Education service and its officers, to work
independently and in partnership with other organisations, to
fulfil the Council’s statutory responsibilities to ensure a
high standard of education for secondary aged children (amongst
others) in Cornwall.
 
Actions
 
1. 
To reissue guidance to the Committee on how to
engage with local schools.
2. 
For a detailed analysis to be undertaken of data
including “churn of year cohorts” to be undertaken by
the future Committee of the new administration.
3. 
The number of children home schooled across Cornwall
to be circulated to the Committee.
