Purpose

A
commitment to the Declaration was previously given by the Council
in 2019.  However, the Declaration has
since been updated to reflect changes in the Government’s
smokefree plans and objectives.
 In particular, Local Authorities are
being asked to welcome the Government’s ambition to make
England smokefree by 2030 and the plans to introduce NHS treating
tobacco dependency services.

That
the Council commits to the Local Authority declaration on Tobacco
Control, including the ambition to create a smokefree generation by 2030.
