It was proposed by Councillor
Perry, seconded by Councillor Widdon and
RESOLVED
that
(i)
The progress in the development to date of the Mid
Cornwall Metro – “Levelling Up Fund” project be
noted.
(ii)
The Mid Cornwall Metro – Levelling Up Fund
project be supported in order to deliver strategic transformational
connectivity to support a Thriving and Sustainable Cornwall with
the following specific outputs:

Rail Infrastructure proposals to enhance the Newquay
Branch Line and extend direct rail services between Newquay,
St Austell, Truro, Penryn and Falmouth.

Active Travel, public realm and accessibility
improvements at rail stations and adjacent areas in Newquay, Roche,
Bugle and Falmouth – Penryn.

Ticket digitalisation – providing
tap-on/tap-off ‘Pay-As-You-Go’ ticketing in
Cornwall.
(iii)
The strategic risks and mitigations as outlined in
Section 8 of the report be noted.
(iv)
The project be endorsed and Recommended to
Cabinet that it draws down the Levelling Up Funding from DHLUC
subject to any comments made by the Committee as outlined in the
minutes.
