Purpose

This
report relates to the proposal to bring sports facilities within
the scope of the Langarth Garden
Village (LGV) Programme to ensure they are
coordinated with the surrounding development and existing and
emerging communities and also provide a framework for future
decision making.

DECISION:
 

RESOLVED:

1. 
That governance and oversight related to proposed
sports and community facilities on land currently owned by Cornwall
Council, including the site previously allocated to accommodate the
Stadium for Cornwall, are included within the scope of
the Langarth Garden Village (LGV) Programme to ensure that they are
coordinated with the surrounding development, and that the needs of
existing and emerging communities be safeguarded, and a
consultative framework for future decision making be
provided.

2. 
That authority be delegated to the Strategic
Director for Sustainable Growth and Development to take such steps
and decisions as may be necessary or desirable to progress works,
including awarding the Phase 3 contract for works and to enable
Phases 4 and 5, including on budget, land disposal, related land
agreements (including on adjoining land), leases and future
management, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Planning
and Housing, the Portfolio Holder for Resources, the Monitoring
Officer, the Section 151 Officer and the local divisional
Member.
