RESOLVED:
1.
That the Board noted the requirement to update the
Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)
by 1 April 2025 due to significant changes in pharmacy provision
across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
2.
That the Board agreed to the establishment of a PNA
Steering Group made up of partners represented on the Board to take
forward work on the development of the PNA 2025-2028.
3.
That the Board agreed to the proposed timescales to
undertake the work, including public consultation and the need for
approval by the Joint Health and Wellbeing Board in February 2025
to avoid the Council pre-election period.
4.
That authority be delegated to the Director of
Public Health, in consultation with the Board Chairman, to sign off
the draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment document, which will form
the basis of the public consultation.
5.
That the Board will support the anticipated letter
to be sent from Cornwall Council’s Portfolio Holder for Adult
Social Care and Health to the Secretary of State that will raise
Cornwall’s health related issues and also challenge the
ability of hospital pharmacies to be able to dispense prescriptions
to the community.
