Purpose

In
October 202,3 the Public Health team successfully secured a bid for
developing a Health Determinants Research Collaboration in
Cornwall. The aim of the funding is to develop the research culture
and capacity of the Council to address the wider determinants of
health in communities in Cornwall and the health inequalities
impact on our residents. The contract for the HDRC began on 1
January and will end on 31 December 2028. This report to the Joint
Health and Wellbeing Board will report on the first months of the
programme of work and inform on upcoming plans for the
collaboration.

RESOLVED that
the Board supports the activity of the Health Determinants Research
Collaboration (HDRC) as reported and notes the work of the Cornwall
HDRC to date.  More detailed information
on the agreed priorities and activity would be reported in future
meetings.
