RESOLVED
that:
 
1. That
the Committee urgently meets with local MPs and relevant Cabinet
Members to discuss the findings of the inquiry.
 
2.
That, through the Leader, the Council lobbies MPs, the Minister for
Health, Chancellor and Secretary of State for Health and Social
Care based on the outcomes of the findings of the inquiry for
fairer funding and the main streaming of long term
grants.
 
3. That the Committee writes to the
Secretary of State for Health and Social Care through the Chair of
the Care and Wellbeing Funding Task and Finish Group and Chairman
of the Committee, based on the findings of the inquiry.
 
4. Additional funding was required from
central government to reflect the additional burden of National
Insurance increases on the care market and this point to be made in
the Committee’s meeting with MPs and Cabient Members; as part of the Leader’s
lobbying to MPs, the Minister for Health, Chancellor and Secretary
of State for Health and Social Care; and, in the Committee’s
letter to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care (as
described in recommendations 1-3).
