Purpose

To agree budget changes and delegations to enable the
ongoing purchase of land or property for the delivery of housing
within the HRA.  This relates to the
site referred to in paragraph 5.2 of report CH/201 which has been
previously considered by Cabinet.

RESOLVED

That the Cabinet:

a)            
delegates the negotiation, approval and completion of all relevant
documentation, including legal paperwork necessary to secure the
required affordable housing acquisitions identified in Section 5.2
of report CH/216. to the Head of Crawley Homes, the Head of
Corporate Finance and the Head of Governance, People &
Performance.
(Generic Delegations 2
& 3 will be used to enact this recommendation).

b)            
requests that Full Council approves a supplementary capital
estimate of £700k in the Crawley Homes Acquisitions Budget as
detailed in section 5.2 of report CH/216 to enable the ongoing
delivery of affordable housing within the HRA.

Reasons for the
Recommendations

Crawley Homes actively pursues opportunities
to expand its affordable housing stock, and this revision of the
HRA Acquisitions Budget is necessary to sustain this objective, and
to ensure that this affordable housing is secured to the required
specifications.
