Purpose

To consider the petition submitted entitled
“Tilgate Park War Memorial”, following the meeting of
the Overview and Scrutiny Commission.

Content

RESOLVED

That the Cabinet:

a)               
notes the petition;

b)               
acknowledges the points made during the discussion at the Overview
and Scrutiny Commission, and

c)               
welcomes the ongoing work that Councillors and Council officers
were doing, both to install a new plaque at Tilgate Park as well as
their continued work with local Armed Forces groups for an
alternative memorial.

Reasons for
Recommendations

To ensure the procedure for the
Council’s Petitions Scheme as detailed in the Council’s
Constitution is adhered to.
