Purpose

To seek delegated authority for contract award approval for
the Commercial Property Insurance Contract (over £500,000)
for 24months, following the appropriate procurement
process.

RESOLVED
 
That the Cabinet:

a)               
delegates authority to the Leader of the Council in consultation
with the relevant Cabinet Member, relevant Head of Service, and
Head of Law and Governance to approve the award of the Commercial
Property Insurance Contract following an appropriate procurement
process. This contract will commence on 1st April 2026 with a
duration of 24 months.

b)               
delegates the negotiation, approval and completion of all relevant
documentation, including legal paperwork following the awarding of
the contract to the relevant Head of Service, Head of Law and
Governance, Head of Corporate Finance.

Reasons for the
Recommendations
 
The approval of the delegation provides a key
decision that will enable the individual procurement process
(competition on the YPO Insurance Services DPS) to be awarded under
delegated authority once the tender process has concluded giving
the Council the ability to reduce the time required to complete a
procurement process.
