Purpose

The decision to sell the land was approved by
Cabinet on 21 January 2026 via report FIN/720 and that these
decisions relate to resolutions (b) and (c) of that report. The
decisions are to approve the sale and approve and complete of all
relevant documentation, including legal paperwork necessary in
relation to enable the sale.

Content

The sale of the land was approved by the Head
of Corporate Finance, in consultation with the Leader.

The completion of all relevant legal document was taken by the
Commercial Asset Manager, in consultation with the Head of
Governance, People & Performance via Legal Management Team
(Legal Services Manager and Data & Democracy Manager) and the
Head of Corporate Finance.

Alternative options considered

Option 1 - The alternative option was to
retain the land and not go ahead with the sale – this was
rejected because of the opportunity to raise a capital sum for the
council.
Option 2 – to proceed with the sale.
