RESOLVED that Cabinet –

 

(a)      approve the procurement
and direct award contract to Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK Ltd (Jones Bros)
for the site clearance, demolition and asbestos removal up to the value of
£4.7m, and

 

(b)      delegates authority to the
Corporate Director: Environment and Economy, Head of Planning, Public
Protection and Countryside Services, S.151 Officer and Monitoring Officer to
award the contract once the Council’s Design and Construction team were happy
that all pre-contract information had been received and was acceptable.
