Purpose

To seek the Cabinet Member’s approval to
use the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site (DVMWHS) reserve
to assist in funding the DVMWHS Coordination Team.
 

Decision

The Cabinet
Member approved the use of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage
Site (DVMWHS) reserve to assist in funding the DVMWHS Coordination
Team, as detailed in the Table in Paragraph 4.5 to the
report. 

Reasons for the decision

The DVMWHS is the East Midland’s most historically
significant landscape. 

Alternative options considered

Option 1: The
Council could choose not to use the DVMWHS reserve to bridge the
gap between the Coordination Team’s cost and the available
core funding, however, this would be against the recommendation of
the DVMWHS Strategic Board. This option is not
recommended.
