Purpose

To seek Cabinet approval to accept the Tour de France Femmes 2027 Grand Départ and delegate authority to the Executive Director – Place.
 

Decision

RESOLVED to:

1) Accept the Tour de France Femmes 2027 Grand Départ – Derbyshire Stage Grant of up to £2.4m (subject to an approved Full Business Case being drafted by EMCCA) from the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) to support Derbyshire's hosting of Stage 2 of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift on Saturday 31 July 2027; and

2) Delegate authority to the Executive Director – Place, in consultation with the Director of Legal and Democratic Services, to agree the terms of and enter into the back-to-back funding agreement with EMMCA and any ancillary documentation required to secure and administer the funding; and

3) Delegate authority to the Executive Director – Place, in consultation with the Director of Legal and Democratic Services, to agree the terms of and enter into the Host Agreement with Grand Depart GB subject to the back-to-back agreement with EMCCA being entered; and

4) Authorise the Executive Director – Place to undertake all actions necessary to deliver the Council's obligations arising from the funding agreement and Host Agreement.
