About

The Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee coordinates and leads the Council's overview and scrutiny function across all areas of its activity, including partnership working. It reviews and scrutinises decisions and actions taken by the Council's Executive and other functions, making reports and recommendations to the Council or the Executive. The committee also examines relevant public bodies and partners within the Borough, assessing the Council's relationship with them and requesting explanations of their activities and performance. It has the authority to establish ad hoc scrutiny panels to investigate specific issues and is responsible for drafting protocols for the scrutiny process.
