Purpose

The work is underway to develop a
comprehensive food plan and 5 year action plan for Doncaster in
partnership with key stakeholders and through comprehensive public
engagement. The current post holder is only currently on a 2 year
temporary contract and the work is now progressing well and we
would like to continue the work beyond the 2 years and therefore
wish to use the remaining allocated funding and additional revenue
budget commitment to secure the post for another 2 years and 3
months until 31st March 2028. The original proposal enabled an
additional PH Research and Evaluation post to be aligned to the
current post for a period of 2 years until 31st March 2027 and to
be supported through the HDRC function of the council as a
partnership approach. The key aim is to secure delivery of the food
plan already started and to support the research/evaluation around
the food areas and maintain continuity of the work programme for a
further 3 years.

Allocation of £296k of Public Health
reserve ring-fenced grant reserve and revenue budget funding to
support the extension of 1 x FTE Grade 9 PH Improvement
Co-ordinator post to 31stMarch 2028 (previously in post until
January 2026) and recruitment of 1 x FTE Grade 7 post from 1st
April 2025 to 31st March 2027 post to develop a comprehensive food
plan and evaluation framework for Doncaster, inclusive of
redundancy provision.
