Purpose
There is a statutory requirement to publish a
Post 16 Transport Policy Statement by 31st May each year in
accordance with the Home to School Statutory Travel and Transport
Guidance published by the Government in 2014.
Content
There is a statutory requirement to publish a
Post 16 Transport Policy Statement by 31st May each year. The
Statement must also be the subject of a consultation prior to any
proposed changes and publication annually. Consultation took place
between
20th December 2024 and 24th February 2025.
One comment was submitted by New College Doncaster regarding the
wording of bursary arrangements and transferring money directly to
student bank. Current DfE guidance has been reviewed and the policy
wording is still in line with DfE guidance.
Therefore, there are no changes proposed to the 2025/2026 Policy
Statement and this will only contain updates to the names of
various bus passes, which are now offered by South Yorkshire
Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA). Any information
from and links to additional websites has also been updated. These
updates have been made to the draft policy and a copy is attached
for information. Approval is now required to publish the policy in
May 2025 in accordance with the statutory requirement.
