Purpose

The rationale for the one year extension is
that the postholder will continue working on the Education and
Skills Strategy and Mayoral priorities for an City of Learning. The
extension reflects
the traction to date, but also the significant transformation that
is still required in this key policy area in line with key national
and regional policy drivers. It further enables the alignment of
the
outcomes from the OECD Human Flourishing 2050 report informed by
national policy changes.
Whilst we have made a lot of headway, Skills remains a huge issue
nationally and Doncaster is no different.

To note and identify the final position
regarding the management review and updated implemented structure
for LOSC at Head of Service level July 2022, and to agree the
funding requirements.
To utilise funding identified through the Adult Family Learning
reserve for one year to extend the Head of Service Skills for a
further year to continue and embed and further develop the
programme for the Education and Skills Strategy 2030.
