Content

In line with the delegated authority provided
by Cabinet on 12th March 2025:
• To approve the use of the Trailblazer funding for Doncaster
set out in the attached ODR (Reasons for decision)

Alternative options considered

To not accept the Trailblazer Delivery
Plan

Not agreeing the plan would mean that staff currently being
recruited would not be able to be appointed and commissioning of
grants to the VCS and organisations would not proceed, having a
detrimental impact on residents and communities, significantly
impact
on Doncaster’s ability to support communities particularly in
the current challenging climate around employment.

Not receiving the funding and delivering Pathways to work delivery
plan– specifically the Trailblazer element, will also
significantly impact the ability of Doncaster to achieve targets
outlined in the borough strategy, Doncaster Delivering Together, as
well as an inability to
meet funders requirements and would essentially mean we would be
refusing to participate in delivery of the trailblazer, which would
be significant reputationally for the Doncaster.
