Purpose

Armthorpe Leisure Centre, as part of the City
of Doncaster Council's portfolio of leisure facilities, has been a
valued community asset, offering residents access to fitness,
sports, and
recreational activities. The decision to invest capital in the
centre in 2021 was driven by a commitment to enhancing the quality
of local amenities, ensuring modern and accessible facilities for
the community.
The partial refurbishment of Armthorpe Leisure Centre addressed
several improvements; however, certain critical
elements—particularly the mechanical and electrical
systems—require
further investment to ensure the long-term viability of the
facility.
To support this objective, the commissioning of a comprehensive
condition survey will help prioritise essential works, enabling
City of Doncaster Council (CDC) staff to secure funding for
necessary upgrades.

reserves for capital feasibility works to undertake condition
survey of Armthorpe Leisure Centre.

Not to allocate monies, would result in an
inability to secure necessary funding to undertake condition
survey, leading to the inability to take proactive action in
addressing the remaining
refurbishment needs at Armthorpe Leisure Centre. This lack of
investment could lead to the gradual decline of the
building’s infrastructure and fabric
