Full council record
Purpose
Since 2015, the City of Doncaster Council has
conducted the Pupil Lifestyle Survey in partnership with
commissioned research agencies, which has provided valuable data on
children and young people’s health-related behaviour, through
an anonymous school-based questionnaire.
The data from this survey has provided a set of Doncaster-wide
figures at key points in children and young people’s
development; KS2, 3 and 4. The results have allowed us to more
effectively target work with children and young people and provide
an agenda for action into the future.
The current contract with the commissioned research agency, PFA
Research Limited, commenced on 1st January 2025, and is due to end
31st December 2025.
The current contract has an annual value of £12,496.
Content
To recommission an expanded Doncaster Pupil
Lifestyle Survey contract using Invitation to Quote.
Alternative options considered
Option 1: To discontinue commissioning the
Doncaster Pupil Lifestyle
Survey
Option 1 would be to discontinue commissioning the Doncaster Pupil
Lifestyle Survey. This option would not be suitable as this would
prevent the collection of valuable health and wellbeing data and
Pupil voice and negatively impact the City of Doncaster
Council’s public health offer for Children and Young People
in Doncaster.
Option 2: To Direct award the contract
Option 2 would be to direct award the contract. This option is not
suitable due to changes in the contract specification and expansion
of the requirements of the survey.
