Full council record
Purpose
In 2024 the DfT announced that it was making
available across the country an additional £500 million in
year 2025/26 for the Network North Roads Resurfacing Fund.
South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authorities (SYMCA) have allocated
this to their constituent authorities on a pro-rata basis. As
Sheffield are in a PFI contract they are excluded from receiving
any of this additional funding.
It has been confirmed that City of Doncaster Council (CDC) will be
allocated £2,659,478.51 from the Local Highways Maintenance
Fund, (signed agreement received by CDC on 11th June 2025) which
will be used to predominately carry out resurfacing and permanent
patching of local roads on a preventative and worst first
basis.

Alternative options considered
1. To decline the additional funding, which
would lead to the £2,659,478.51 not being invested into the
highway infrastructure asset, across the authority
2. To accept the additional funding, which would lead to an
additional £2,659,478.51 above the normal annual allocation
being invested into the highway infrastructure, asset across the
authority
