It is proposed to utilise funds following
approval from DfE on the 15/07/25 to allocate on a Capital Grant
basis funds to Doncaster Schools, on the terms that the CDC will
reinvest the capital receipt (£629,000) in external sports
projects at schools within the local authority area, which will be
determined via a competitive bidding round.

Permitted usage of funds: The funds are to be reinvested in capital
projects at the school with a priority on improving sports
provision (as this disposal included playing field land).
Therefore, it is appropriate to utilise as a school capital project
and not a community facility project. For example, the fund could
be used for a school where the sporting facilities require
improvement or alternatively have a condition issue that needs
addressing.

Venue sold: Cusworth Centre. Type of land sold: Disposal of school
land including playing field land. Date of sale: 07/10/20. Value of
sale: £629,000

The £629,000 expenditure will be added to the CYPF 2025-26
capital programme.

Alternative options considered

No other options can be considered as
following the DfE terms the CDC have to reinvest the capital
receipt (£629,000) in external sports capital projects at
schools within the local authority area, this will be determined
via a competitive grant process.
