To agree the proposed plans for spending the
MHCLG grant for victims of domestic abuse, with permission given
for variation in the amounts

Alternative options considered

The uplift in funding has been discussed at
the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Strategic Board with all members in
agreement that the proposed spend meets the gaps in provision that
have
been identified in the Doncaster Domestic Abuse Strategy and needs
assessment. Support for children affected by domestic abuse is a
focus in the 2025-2026 domestic abuse action plan.
No recourse to public funds (NRPF) is a growing concern with an
increase in referrals and a lack of specialism locally. Victims
with NRPF are particularly complex and require significantly more
time and dedication from domestic abuse workers which then impacts
on all victims.

Partner agencies were asked for suggestions of alternative options
but no alternatives have been proposed.

The proposed spend has been to Adults Wellbeing and Culture
Director’s Leadership Team (DLT) and went to Extended
Leadership Team (ELT) on 18th August 2025 with agreement given
regarding the proposed spend.
