Content
To approve the allocation of £25,000 to
the Winter Warmth fund and the Warm Spaces initiative. The funding
would be equally split between 5 localities in preparation for
Winter.
Well Doncaster are committed to the continued support of local
groups and organisations who help the most in need and those who
have been adversely impacted by the cost of living rises. From
feedback collected over the last two years, the Winter Warmth and
Warm Spaces grant has had a significant impact for the
wellbeing of local Doncaster residents across the city. Well
Doncaster will continue both initiatives and allocate the money to
Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust to deliver a participatory
method of cascading the funds to local Voluntary Community and
Faith Groups across the City. Winter Warmth grants of up to
£500 will be available for community groups to support
families and individuals with winter warmth essentials from
September 2025 to March 2026.
Alternative options considered
Alternatives considered – Do not deliver
Winter Warmth initiatives. This would impact on VCFS groups and
organisation’s ability to respond to the needs of residents
in Doncaster communities most affected by the cost-of-living crisis
and vulnerable to ill health over the Winter period.
