Purpose

To ensure that the Council’s interests
are sufficiently represented through its appointments to these
bodies. Such appointments help to ensure that the Council’s
views are represented to local and national groups and, where the
representative has voting rights, that the Council is involved in
any decisions that may affect the people of the City of
Doncaster.

Content

To approve the following changes to the
schedules of Council and Executive appointments to outside bodies
with immediate effect:

1) That Councillor Cynthia Ransome be replaced by Councillor Symeon
Waller on the Corporate Parenting Board (term to run until May
2029); and

2) That Councillor Rachel Reed be replaced by Councillor Craig Ward
on the South Yorkshire Pensions Authority (term to run until May
2026).

Alternative options considered

To not appoint Council representatives to the
specified outside bodies. The option not to make these appointments
would mean a loss of opportunity for the Council in lobbying,
decision
making, representing the Council’s views and influencing
future policy.
