xxxxxx currently provide security services to
Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA). The contract with xxxxxxxx ends
on 19 March 2026 and 90 days’ notice must be given to xxxxxx
of our intent (by 19 December 2025).
This report outlines the reasoning behind the following
decisions:
1. To terminate the existing arrangement with xxxxxxx
2. To agree to internalise the security provision
The report recommends that an internal security provision offers
better value for money as well as increased benefits when compared
to an external third-party supplier:

This has been presented to the SYAC Programme Board who have
recommended that an ODR needs to be produced to agree
formally.

Alternative options considered

Contract with a third party – to tender
and enter into a contract with a third-party supplier that has
aviation capability, airside driving, and SIA accreditation as a
provider. This has been discounted as the benefits of direct
provision and the costs are preferential to delivering in-house.
This would also require a full procurement exercise to be carried
out.
Not award a contract or have in-house provision – this is not
an option as a Security provision is required to comply with the
regulatory framework.
