Purpose

Content

To agree the annual price increase requests
which have been received for individual placement for children and
young people for 25/26 price review. These requests are in relation
to individual Social care, Fostering, Independent School or Short
Breaks placements currently in place.

Alternative options considered

Placement moves - A review of impacted
placements have taken place which has included input from the
relevant professionals and where appropriate market comparisons
have been completed determine if the placements continue to be the
most appropriate options for young people as well as value for
money or if there is a possible move which can be facilitated
however in some cases this is not appropriate due to the current
stability and impact of the placements.

Not agreeing the request/doing nothing -
If the local authority is unable to agree the price increases, then
placement stability may become an issue. Providers may not be able
to continue the contracted provision potentially leading to notice
being submitted. This could lead to a breakdown in long standing,
stable placements
