To approve £**** to be used from the
Revenue Contribution to the Capital Programme Reserve to fund a
conservation plan and accessibility audit at the Mansion
House.

Alternative options considered

1. Do nothing – This option is not
feasible. The Mansion House is a prestigious, Grade1 building in
the Council’s portfolio and there is a corporate wish to
maximise use of the building. The conservation plan will identify
any adaptations that are allowable to maximise
use of the building while maintaining its historic features. The
plan will form supporting information for any external funding
bids. The accessibility audit will ensure that the Council meets
accessibility requirements for visitors to site.

2. Commission the Conservation Plan (Recommended) – The
Conservation will provide a reference document to identify any
opportunities and limitations in altering the physical building to
enable the development of a robust business plan for the site. It
will identify potential future investment opportunities and support
external bids.
