Full council record
Purpose

Following a successful capital bid in early
2022, £317.6k was awarded to carry out the replacement of the
lake edgings, install a new access track and relay certain
footpaths around Askern Lake.
Following a tender process in October 2023 the project costs for
the work were in the region of £370k.
Due to the rise in costs since the start of the Capital bid process
in September 2021 the project costs are over the budgeted amount by
£52,400
Negotiations with the appointed contractor and small changes to the
design specification have reduced the cost of the project leaving a
short fall now of £24,300
The allocation of £14,300 of S106 money will enable the
project to be carried out.
The scheme will be part funded from the following Section 106
commuted sum:
Line Ref 17/00185/FULM – Spa Terrace, Askern
Additional money (£10,000) has also been secured from Askern
Town Council to assist with the budget deficit and enable project
delivery.
Design colleagues have reduced/waived fees to help offset budget
pressures.
