Purpose
Background:
Environmental Pride was set up at the beginning of 2022 to support
community-led environmental improvement projects in Doncaster. City
of Doncaster Council and St Leger Homes lead the programme,
alongside an active partnership consisting of Voluntary Action
Doncaster, private companies identified by Doncaster Chamber, DN
Colleges Group and E.N. North.
The programme helps Doncaster residents to make a difference to
their local community and environment. It supports projects
that:
• Are created and led by the local community for the local
community
• Support residents to become active in enhancing and
celebrating their local environment
• Bring people together and promote pride in the community and
neighbourhood
• Remain the responsibility of the community throughout the
project and are sustainable in the long term, without significant
ongoing organisational support or funding
• Encourage people to be physically active whilst improving
their environment and/or as a result of activity/project.
Through a two-stage application process, applicants provide
evidence that their proposed project will meet these funding
criteria. Grants up to £5,000 are available per
application.
The proposed outcomes of the Environmental Pride programme are as
follows:
• Community groups are supported to deliver projects that
contribute towards CDC’s Environment
Content
• To continue use of remaining
£25,130 from the Future Parks budget as previously approved
on REF NO EE23 0800
• To allocate match funding of £10,000 from the
Environment
