Purpose

Active Travel England (ATE) is the
Government’s executive agency acting on behalf of the
Secretary of State for Transport, responsible for making walking,
wheeling and cycling the preferred choice for everyone to get
around in England; and is committed to meeting the
Government’s manifesto commitment for all children in England
to be offered Bikeability training.
The City of Doncaster Council has been offered £********* for
2024/25 to assist in delivering this target, subject to the funding
agreement appended.
The funding will help to deliver sustainable travel choices, safety
and health benefits for child cyclists, in alignment with the Get
Doncaster Cycling Strategy and road safety improvement
aims.
