Purpose

To ensure that the Council’s interests
are sufficiently represented through its appointments to these
bodies. Such appointments help to ensure that the Council’s
views are represented to local and national groups and, where the
representative has voting rights, that the Council is involved in
any decisions that may affect the people of the City of
Doncaster.
Recent changes to the political composition of Sheffield City
Council have impacted on the political proportionality across South
Yorkshire in terms of the Member representation on both the South
Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority (SYFRA) and the Police and
Crime Panel (PCP) by the other South Yorkshire local authorities.
This has necessitated the following adjustments to the City of
Doncaster Council’s member representation on these
bodies:
SYFRA - Labour Group lose one seat, Conservative Group gain one
seat
PCP – Conservative Group lose one seat, Labour Group gain one
seat
