Full council record
Purpose
Following a successful capital bid in 2022
£*** was awarded to carry out the replacement of the lake
edgings and associated footpaths around Sandall Park Lake.
The project was tendered in March 2023 for a cost of £***
(excluding contingencies).
Due to the rise in costs since the start of the Capital bid process
the project costs are over the budgeted amount.
The allocation of this S106 money will enable the capital works to
be carried out plus some resurfacing works in one of the car
parks.
The scheme will be part funded from the following Section 106
commuted sum:
Line Ref 19/01170/FULM – Former Wheatley School and Playing
Fields, Leger Way
Additional money (£***) has also been secured from Future
Parks funding to assist with the budget deficit.
To reduce the cost of the project part of the original bid (the
replacement of fishing pegs) will no longer be funded from the
Capital budget and alternative means are being looked in to for
this element.
Design colleagues have reduced/waived fees to help offset budget
pressures.
