Purpose

Approval is sought for contract funding for a
12-month contract extension from 1 June 2023 for the Supported
Accommodation and Floating Support (Green Gables) service provided
by YWCA Yorkshire at an annual value of £403,057, which
represents a 2.8% increase in funding from the original contract
price. The service was procured in June 2019 for a period of two
years plus 2 extension periods of 12 months.
During the contract extension period, it has been agreed that the
contract and budget will transfer to Children, Young People and
Families (CYPF) who will conclude a review of the service within
the context of the early help pathway to inform future
commissioning intentions and any subsequent re-procurement of the
service by CYPF.
The contract provides a core supported housing service consisting
of eight two-bedroom selfcontained units based in Mexborough
for which the landlord is Together Housing plus a number of
dispersed properties in a variety of locations.
In addition, the contract also provides a city-wide floating
support service with capacity to support 75 families at any one
time, which includes support for those either leaving the supported
accommodation service who require ongoing resettlement support as
well as those who are already living in other housing situations
but need support to maintain their accommodation, develop
independent living skills, provide a safe and nurturing family
environment and in some instances prevent homelessness
