Full council record
Purpose

This initiative was piloted in the North of
Doncaster in January-March 2023 and showed strong evidence of need
to expand this approach to all localities in 2023/24. In total
across the North locality £8,394.93 was awarded to 17 VCFS
groups and organisations supporting projects including Winter
Warmth clothing or housing packs for residents providing those most
in need with items including slow
cookers, blankets, scarfs, hot water bottles and draft
excluders.

Content

To allocate £48,000 from the Clinically
Extremely Vulnerable to a Winter Warmth fund initiative. The
funding would be equally split between 4 localities in preparation
for Winter.
Well Doncaster are committed to the continued support of local
groups and organisations who help the most in need and those who
have been adversely impacted by the cost-of-living rises. Using
insight from speaking to communities about what they need, the Well
Doncaster Team would like to create a fund called ‘Winter
Warmth’. Winter Warmth grants of up to £500 will be
available for
community groups to support families and individuals with winter
warmth essentials, helping residents in Doncaster to stay warm over
the colder months between October 2023 and March 2024 as part of
affordable warmth preparedness.
