Purpose

Allocation of Section 106 monies from
13/02635/FULM £54,947 to be spent on improvements to
Highfields Country Park, Woodlands, Doncaster DN6 7RA. This
decision is based on the need to renovate the country park to
improve the usability, safety and access for residents. This park
is regularly used by local residents therefore the improvements
will ensure residents of all ages can continue use the park and
feel safe.
The consequence of not completing the above mentioned improvements
are; reduced usage of the lake for anglers due to the debris and
reeds within the lake, the spillways becoming blocked
meaning the water isn’t flowing between the stream and upper
lake, access of quads and off road bikes will remain an issue and a
safety risk to visitors and local residents leading to a decrease
in usage of the park.

15 additional/replacement benches installed (£765 per bench)

*There are no maintenance costs allocated to this element as these
will be replacement bins in which maintenance in already accounted
for within Street Scene budget, this has been confirmed by John
Freestone.
There is no other maintenance requirements as part of this
scheme.

To approve the allocation of £54,947 on
improvements to Highfields Country Park which will include lake
dredging, improvements to entrances and exits to limit access of
quads and off road
bikes and installation of additional bins and benches. Future Parks
are also providing funding for improvements to signage,
interpretation, footpaths and lighting strategies around the
park.
