Purpose
As part of the new national stroke service
model October 2020 issued by NHS England and Improvement, an
Integrated Stroke Delivery Network (ISDN) has been created across
the South Yorkshire patch; the aim is to improve the quality of
stroke care by improving clinical outcomes, patient experience and
patient safety. The network is responsible for designing and
delivering optimal stroke pathways across our organisations and
existing pathways to ensure that people
who have suffered stroke disease experience high quality
specialised care from prehospital, through to rehabilitation and
life after stroke and is key to delivering the long-term plan
commitment for stroke care.
Content
To approve the continuation of the financial
arrangements for the provision of the Stroke Rehab Service through
the payment of £127,934 to South Yorkshire Integrated Care
Board (SYICB) via a Section 76 agreement for a period of 12 months,
from 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024, in order to facilitate the
continued delivery of Services provided by Doncaster and Bassetlaw
Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. There are also some monies
to test innovation and a small group across acute and community are
working up a bid, which may help test ideas against some of the
recommendations for life after stroke.
