Purpose
Project 6 is an established Doncaster VCFS
organisation providing local recovery support for people misusing
alcohol for 30 years. Following submission of a proposal from
Project 6, the Doncaster
Combatting Drugs Partnership requested Project 6 take the lead role
for the Partnership in the development of a LERO, and to sustain
core provision for Sober Social and older people’s activities
for which other non Doncaster City Council funding has come to an
end in 2022/23.The grant will sustain and develop a local community
asset which supports recovery from alcohol misuse.
A subsidy assessment has been undertaken and the grant is deemed to
be compliant with all subsidy principles, and the assessment will
form part of the grant agreement which will be put in place with
Project 6.
Content
To award a grant of £177,308 to Project
6 towards the development of a Doncaster Lived Experience Recovery
Organisation (LERO) and supporting community provision, from the
Supplemental Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery Grant 2023/24
(for which authorisation to accept the funding was given by key
decision by Councillor Nigel Ball on 14/06/22.
