Full council record
Purpose

The plant room houses the mains incoming water
supply with the attached incoming water meter and a heating system
for Heyford House. As identified in the background papers for
asbestos management access to this area must be restricted due to
the asbestos debris and damaged walls. We are unable to
access
this area safety to conduct water usage monitoring, carry out any
works required or access the condition of current water and heating
systems for the building to enable future planning and safe
occupation of the site on short to long term basis.
By making the plant room safe we can continue to manage the
asbestos and review the building as a whole on an as required
basis.
Advice was sought from Senior Asbestos Control Officer regarding
the removal, restriction and management of asbestos. To make safe
the plant room until further decisions for the use and purpose of
the building moving forward in relation to
securing an operator and/or tenant use.
