Full council record
Purpose
In recognition of the need for significant
service change and improvement work within the adult social care
directorate, in July 2022 temporary service manager capacity was
introduced on a
fixed term two-year basis to support the directorate to deliver its
strategic objectives and priorities. Three temporary service
manager posts were established across the whole of the
adult’s directorate, funded via the transformation
fund.
This temporary management capacity is due to come to an end, with
the first of these temporary posts coming to an end in July this
year (2024). As a result of this fixed term capacity coming
to
an end there has been a need to revisit and review the permanent
management capacity required within the adult social care part of
the adult’s structure.
Following a review of the specific needs, demand and current
management capacity of services within the adult social care part
of the directorate, it is proposed that three service
managers
(Grade 12) are required on a permanent basis in order to provide
sufficient capacity to enable the directorate to deliver its core
business, achieve its strategic objectives and deliver
identified
efficiencies.
