Purpose

Permanent capacity is required to support the
commissioning elements of a number of strategies across the
directorate to facilitate transformation and cost effective models
of delivery and to quality assure provision.
Recommendations from the National Safeguarding Panel require
increased oversight of all providers of children’s placements
within Doncaster including those where we do not currently
commission places.

Content

To utilise funding identified through
improvement money to replaces 2 temporary funded Service
Transformation Posts with permanent roles:
• 1 FTE Grade 9 Commissioning Lead post to provide additional
capacity to support the Commissioning function in relation to
engaging and developing the local provider market for both
education and residential placements for children and young
people.

• 1 FTE Grade 8 Quality Assurance Officer to increase capacity
to quality assure Children’s social care placements
